My time at ICLP has been a truly transformative experience. If you want to eat, sleep and breathe Chinese-- this is the program for you. This is the sixth program where I have studied Chinese, and as far as I’m concerned it’s THE place to come if you truly want to become not only an effective communicator, but develop a profound ability to think critically in Chinese. The teaching materials are superb, the teaching methods are masterful albeit challenging, and the teachers themselves are dedicated to your progress 120% of the time. ICLP’s greatest treasure is its teachers; they have a profound understanding of how non-native speakers learn Chinese and anticipate many obstacles before you encounter them. ICLP has given me the gift of true functionality and self-sufficiency in Mandarin. It would not be hyperbolic to call ICLP a Herculean challenge, but as I’ve learned 良藥苦口。
