By the time I arrived at ICLP, I had already lived in China for a year and considered myself to be at the intermediate level in terms of speaking ability, but was not satisfied with my written Chinese nor my understanding of grammar and sentence structures. After spending only one term at ICLP, my Chinese improved in all aspects and I surprised myself by performing extremely well on the exit exam after only a few short months. ICLP was the perfect program for me and I believe it is particularly well-suited for the intermediate student who is just beginning to understand the more advanced concepts of the Chinese language. Even their afternoon classes held during lunch hour are extremely beneficial. If you have the motivation to work hard and are looking for an intensive program with small class sizes and a helpful, devoted faculty, then I strongly recommend ICLP.
