ICLP has been offering a rigorous summer program to Flagship students since 2012. Over the years, Flagship students who received intensive language instruction at ICLP have found their speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities to improve by at least one sub-level over the course of one summer.

Founded in 1962 to train and develop the oral discursive ability of America's academic elite, ICLP has provided instruction to many alumni who serve in academia and government over the last half century. ICLP is situated on the Main Campus of the National Taiwan University in Taipei, offering Flagship students access to the NTU Main Library, Health Center, Sports Center, and other facilities in addition to ICLP facilities.

By coming to ICLP to study, students will not only improve their Chinese ability significantly, but also enjoy Taiwan's abundant, diverse, and exquisite cultures. ICLP has formulated this program specially for Flagship students to provide them with the best study environment with an ideal living arrangement.

    PROGRAM DURATION: 9 weeks (June 15–August 19, 2022)
INSTRUCTIONAL HOURS: 180 class hours (4 class hours/day), including 3 group classes and and 1 one-on-one Cold Reading class daily, plus mandatory lectures and salon sessions

     ENTRY PERMISSION DURING THE PANDEMIC
ICLP will apply to Taiwan's Ministry of Education, Central Epidemic Command Center, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs for special entry permission on behalf of Flagship students. If approved, students will receive further information on how to apply for a special entry permit. If the application for special entry permission is rejected, students may choose one of the following alternatives, and must inform ICLP of their decision by April 22, 2022:
    1) Deferral of enrollment: students may choose to start in any quarter within one year. ICLP will hold their deposit/tuition and apply it to the tuition of the quarter they enroll in.
    2) Join the online track of the ICLP regular summer program: ►More information on the 2022 Summer Program (please click).
    3) Full refund of the deposit/tuition minus a processing fee and bank charges.
The enrollment deposit is non-refundable if the special entry application is approved, if the studying Chinese visa becomes open for application before April 22, 2022, or after April 22, 2022. The enrollment deposit is non-deferrable once ICLP has scheduled an oral test for the student.
