Practical Audio-Visual Chinese IV
This book uses dialogues between university students about their campus activities and associated holidays enabling students to use Chinese in a variety of assorted discussions. Given that situations vary from countries to countries and that more Americans are studying Chinese in recent years, the compilers of this book have chosen America as a backdrop. Hence, the teaching material differs from other textbooks.
This book also gives brief introductions of Taiwan’s history, geography, society and few Chinese customs, in the hopes that students will learn the differences between Chinese and non-Chinese culture.
The book has 14 chapters, and is suited for a 12-week course, but instructors can choose to skip certain lessons. Students are expected to learn approximately 625 Chinese characters, 1250 vocabulary words and more than 119 grammatical patterns after completing this book.
