Practical Audio-Visual Chinese I
This course is designed for those who have no previous knowledge of spoken and written Chinese. There are twelve lessons in the course text which focus on basic pronunciation, syntax and vocabulary. This goal of this course is to help students acquire all four language skills of modern Chinese—listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The content of conversation diverse, and includes everyday greetings, self introductions, shopping, entertainment, traveling, weather, sports and more. All texts are presented in MPS (Mandarin Phonetic Symbols) and Pinyin system. English translations are also provided for student’s referen`ce.
Students shall prepare with the accompanying audio and video materials, as well as workbook. After completing this course, students will have learned approximately 314 Chinese characters, 449 vocabulary words and 50 grammatical patterns.
