(1)Textbooks:
Because ICLP publishes many of its own texts, and does not sell textbooks to private individuals outside of the program, textbook fees are extremely low.  Fees will vary according to each student's academic schedule; however, quarterly  textbook costs rarely exceed NT$1,500 (approx. US$45.00) per quarter, and are often less than NT$1,000  (approx US$30.00) per quarter.

(2)Insurance:
The government of Taiwan requires that all persons residing in Taiwan for an extended period must have Emergency Medical Insurance. For the convenience of those students whose current insurance does not provide coverage in Taiwan,  ICLP offers Accidental Insurance. The following rates apply:

♦  12-Month Accidental Insurance Coverage:NT$4,000 (approx US$125.00)

♦  Summer Term Emer. Medical Coverage: NT$1,000 (approx US$30.00)

ICLP refund policy
Written by Administrator
Sunday, 30 March 2008 22:36
In case you need to withdraw from the Program, please note the following refund guidelines:

  1. Deposits, application fees, textbooks, and other course materials are non-refundable.
  2. ICLP admits only a small number of select students. We run a tight ship without a penny of subsidy from NTU. Any withdrawal shows up as a loss on our balance sheet. No refund is made after classes begin.
  3. NTU currently assesses a 25% processing fee for any ICLP money deposited into the ICLP/NTU account, so all legitimate refunds will be subject to at least a 25% loss plus a processing fee of US$500 in addition to bank fees if any. Any withdrawal will result in a financial loss for the student.
  4. Refunds are prorated and processed only under the following circumstances: major sickness or accident (proof required), and family tragedy. No refund will be made on change of study or career plans, altered travel plans, exchange rate fluctuation, or any other personal or budgetary reasons.
  5. If you are male and have dual citizenship and carry an R.O.C. travel document, you might be subject to military draft in Taiwan. You are obligated to know all the clear facts before you decide to enroll at ICLP. Should a sudden change of R.O.C. military draft laws result in the termination of your study, we will process you for a refund.
  6. ICLP teachers are paid on a quarterly basis. They are required to commit a certain teaching hours per day for the whole quarter and are paid accordingly by contract. If you are enrolled in the one-on-one classes and withdraw in the middle of the quarter, we still need to pay the teachers the full salary. This means that we will not be able to refund the difference to you. If, however, you withdraw shortly before class begins, we will process your refund request only when we can find extra assignments for the teachers originally assigned to teach you.
  7. No refund requests will be processed for withdrawal from group classes.
  8. Balances are not transferable from one student to another.
